how is that even possible?

My best guess was that someone did that to a rod and then bolted it to the crank many, many years ago. If it happened while extended, even if it shattered the barrel, I'd think it would have decimated the case opening there.

Saw this on marktplace. It's not well-done but would be a very fun short trip ride, I bet.

This was originally built by what is now become Village Customs before they became what they are. It's a 72 bettle with a 2.6l Chevy v6 mated to a vw bus trans and has air bag suspension. 99% of this beautiful car is custom.
