Re: Let's Rock...

I went through a pretty hefty Vertical Horizon phase. They made some great music.

Re: Let's Rock...

Judging by you posting Semisonic, you must still be going through that phase.

Re: Let's Rock...

ok that one hits me. 1994 was a damn good year to be alive.

and i put Semisonic on a higher rung than the stuff from my previous post. you could at least listen to Closing Time without catching shit at school for it. it was slightly higher than a guilty pleasure. if you were caught listening to Vertical Horizon some guy in a Slipknot or Deftones shirt was going to call you a fag, your machismo was in question and you would never live it down. unless you were gay you were stigmatized until you were 26.
it kinda stimmed from what radio stations we had. you were ether a 106.7 KROQ guy, a STAR 98.7 chick, or a 95.5 KLOS classic rock guy. you would listen to KROQ and KLOS but if you listened to STAR you couldn't have a Y chromosome unless you were light in the loafers. they were a softer cleaner rock and some "but rock". is for, anything they played was automatically not cool. it actually ruined a few bands. Stained, Creed, Lit, Sugar Ray, hate to say this one, but Blink 182, and a bunch of popular 1 hit wonders at the time.
