We're looking all the way southeast North of Nofuck (Williamsburg / Mathews / Glaucester). Coast stuff, still got trail/woods stuff and my wife can visit a store every once in a while that's not a Wal-Mart. It's a win-win :)

Re: A day in the life...

just spent 30 minutes messing with a cheap exercise bike. need to change the seat but it's got a weird size seat post. 1 3/8" this is going to require some additional research...

All my exercise stuff I've had over the decades is not only cheap but used so I've often had to get creative in repairs/modification. It's like my homage to Russian ingenuity in keeping their vehicles alive.

Re: A day in the life...

i ended up finding a universal adapter that bolts to the flat plate the stock seat bolts to. then has a normal size seat post sticking up off the top. allows the use of a normal bike seat.
but it's $40... and im a cheap bastard so im thinking hey, iv got a seat seat mount thing and a seat post i can chop down. it shouldn't be hard to find a piece of steel plate. so now im thinking who do i know that has a welder i can go use for 5 minutes...

I always liked them better than Hot VWs (although I like all the European mags better than both) but will never forgive them for automatically signing me up for a watercooled VW mag. I don't even care that they took my sub money without telling anyone that they were just going to walk off with it. But a watercooled VW mag as a replacement?

Nein.

Re: A day in the life...

Progress continues at the house, I just keep forgetting to take any pictures :)

I needed to finish hiding the duct and wiring and without any rough sawn left to match what was up, I decided to build a tool wall.... for the wall I'm leaving.... I know, that's some weird ass shit to do but I figure if they really like it, I'll leave the tools for them. It's got all the bells and whistles, rounded edges, quick release, custom molded wood saddles, the works.
