random thought of the day

we all get them, those out of the blue random wtf moments when something pops into our heads. could be an old advertising slogan, song lyrics, movie or TV quotes. an unrelated thought about something your working on. a general observation. its just those quick few lines that amuse you for the moment. lets hear'm.

my random thought for the day. you know you're getting jaded when you start watching porn for the plot.

you never learn nothin by mistake if you're to careful.

As I was running plumbing in the basement today, I looked over at the toilet which looks original to the house's 1982 build date and wondered how many people have used it.

As long as I live, I will always consider this to be upside down and seeing them like this will always bother me.

i feel ya on that one.
but, in some situations it has to have the ground prong on top to pass code (hospitals for example). it's a safety thing. if anything falls between the plug and wall it'll hit the ground or one prong and ground and it's safe.
i don't give a damn though, when i plug in the nintendo and the "wall wart" is upside down, that tells me the outlet it upside down.

I'm aware of the reason but I'm sure you'll agree that this is bureaucratic busy work for someone writing these codes. There's a reason you(or anyone else) haven't read any statistics regarding structure fires and shorts caused by someone's butter knife falling off the dining room table, finding a plug half-inserted and falling exactly into the gap with a perfect balance across the hot and neutral prongs that it doesn't flip out of the gap and happening on the one circuit in the structure with a faulty circuit breaker. Oh and the guy that dropped the knife off the table didn't happen to notice the smoke emanating from the wall outlet.

It's the electrical code equivalent of this:

yeah, your talking to a guy who hates warning labels. the way i figure it, just slap a label on there that says, use common sense stupid! and whatever happens happens. thin out the population of mouth breathing paste eating window lickers.

in other news, i just found out there's a town called Gaylordsville in Connecticut

I used to drink mudslides like they were going extinct. What a great frip drink.

Sold a RZR for my brother who bought it for 25k and sold it for 12.5, not including trailer, upgrades etc. He put 13 hours on it.

Which made me wonder. How rich would I be if I didn't make my poor purchase decisions throughout my life?

i hate RZR's. the owners are typically mouth breathing idiots. and for the cost of one plus the build up to make it work well enough to be fun you might as well just build a damn sand rail/dune buggy.

i don't think id want to know. iv got a good $5000 in RC shit in the garage. another couple grand in VW parts i bought and still haven't done anything with. rollerblades iv tried maybe 5 times. put rims on a bike i rode maybe 10 times and then hung up and bought a new bike. im choosing to ignore the video games. model cars i bought and ether never built or started and never finished, and the paint and glue that go with them. car audio... in 7th grade i bought skateboard trucks i really didn't need. and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
id probably be close to the down payment on a house  scary when you start thinking about it.

That's why he sold it. He researched everything except the crowd that was with you on the trails, apparently.

why does the cheezest slices of pizza always have the least amount of toppings?

I had a vegan Stromboli tonight. It was awesome and the toppings and cheese are held hostage by the cocoon of dough.

I don't think it's that they can't, the tv networks just cater to the social network driven cause of the hour. The movie is out and done so the studio isn't under the same pressures I don't think.

I've recently seen some angry editorials by one of the online millennial media outlets where they regularly bashes older movies for their social tone deafness. They are pretty good reads.

back in the day the rebellious thought was kill your television. it was a running theme in songs and counter culture. essentially, smash the thing that makes you dumb, keeps you from being productive, brainwashes you and tells you what to think.
well cell phones have replaced TV in sense that you're glued to them like a moth to flame, being entertained by mindless BS, it's keeping you from being productive and is full of the same brainwashing that the TV was. yet no one has written a punk song about smashing your cell phone.
hell we've even dropped the smash your television idea from the sort of authoritarian rebellion.

im not really sure where im going with this. but it's something iv been pondering for a while now.

That's exactly why I had a clash with my girlfriend back in '89.
She didn't like watching TV on her own while I was busy with the Bug... :D

same here. i have a flip phone (still rocking 3G to boot) and it stays turned off unless i need to make a call or am waiting for a call. and don't even bother texting me, i won't answer. as i type this, i have never sent a text message.

i have a tracfone account. i pay $20 for 90 minutes of air time every 90 days, and unused time rolls over. im up to like 2100 minutes

I love my data. I just try to keep it in a position that I feel I'm using it and not the other way around.

As for counterculture railing against the cellphone, I'm sure that they are doing that, they're just not online so they can't find each other to join forces.
