stopped by Roth Vintage on my way home to talk to Brien about my idle problem. snapped this when i was leaving.
that type34 looks good but is kind of a mess underneath the shinny. i should have snapped another pic, Brien was working on Andy Kimball's 63 squareback.

I really love the 34s but I don't think I've ever seen one in person except at shows. They're super rare on the right side of the US.

they're super rare on the left coast as well. they only show up at bigger shows and it's not a guarantee. that's maybe the 4th one iv ever seen. and the only one iv ever seen not at a show.

When I see pics like these, I always wonder if some of Zippy is sitting there.

nah.. those are super beetle parts
call me crazy but i think i see a mixture of years in there. the fenders all have horn grills, but i see what looks like a passenger side front quarter with a gas filler door hole.

I see what you're looking at and you're right, that sure does seem like a late model quarter. I can't remember what the comment was attached to that image but it was purported to be older.
