Guys, apparently this is an early testing of military mass parachuting. It looks like chaos.
The second one looks decidedly less sketchy. I've got to say, after watching that, I really don't miss the environment :)
I might be wrong but I think that second one is a wood-burning Keubel that they were testing so the military could travel through places that they couldn't get petrol to fuel their vehicles.

there wasn't a description with the pic, but the pic is named "1944 Volkswagen Type 82 Wood Gas Generator"
